“The Tibbits Home”
This artwork was submitted by the Tibbits family. The artwork has been passed down to a new family member recently, and continues to have a great deal of memories that are still very strong over the past 55 years. It was purchased at an art-show in a church bazaar located in the Brome Lake area. The original owner had hurried out to make that purchase, when a family friend had told her about the painting of their grandparents' (Knowlton) home. It was prominently displayed for many years until she passed away nine years ago. Reginald A. Payne captured the beauty of a house that (unfortunately) was not much more than a cottage style home. It was the destination of their yearly summer vacations which holds a lot of memories for the current owner. In addition, there is another painting called “Tibbits Hill School House”. This is another 8x10 painting and was sold to Mr and Mrs Ben Lavin from Knowlton QC at the same art show.
